A Charmed Life, a reflection by Miki Orr
I moved back to Faribault, my hometown, after being gone for over 25 years. Life was close to perfect as I remember growing up in Faribault and that feeling has stayed in my heart for over 50 years. I am so pleased to be living in a town that has so much to offer for its size. Charm galore are the words I use to describe this town to my friends. I love how it has changed and has grown with a diverse population, yet it still has that Faribault hometown vibe. I see and visit a lot of the same places that I did as I child, but I see them in a fresh way. It’s nice to be reminded of its beauty with the architectural elements of homes, the historical buildings around town, the quaintness and history of downtown, and all the beautiful parks and nearby lakes. I knew I was home for good when I heard the train whistle blow as it rolled through town that first night just like I had heard so many nights before when I was a child. I’m very grateful for having Faribault as my hometown, it’s a charmed life.
