A Fond Farewell to Faribault
When I entered Faribault for the first time 13 years ago for my interview as the Advertising Director for the Faribault Daily News, I was struck by two things: the main street in the Downtown was one-way leading people OUT of town-and-it was a beautiful, quaint Downtown that looked full of promise. I fell in love on the spot. Since, the love has only grown as I became more and more a part of that promise.
But, as the majority of my friends in this beautiful City know, my life has been turned inside-out in the past year. And it is with sadness that I bid farewell to this place that I have proudly called my home. My health along with my loss is compelling me to make a change; a change that will hopefully make the rest of my Journey a smoother road to travel.
I will always speak of Faribault and the friends I have been blessed to make with affection and will relate many wonderful stories of this ‘Athens of the West’, ‘Frozen Tundra’ and ‘Land of Ole’ and Lena’.
